The car's hardware, a metal four-wheel chassis with two drive motors, a camera, and a set of sensors, arrived as a bundle of components with nothing pre-programmed and nothing pre-configured. The included Raspberry Pi compatibility didn't match what we actually had on hand, so getting the hardware talking to each other took real troubleshooting before any software work could start.
The included documentation was unreliable: the written manual and the video walkthrough conflicted with each other in places, and neither one accounted for the Raspberry Pi mismatch we ran into. All of the actual driving logic, AI behavior, and LLM integration is being written entirely by us, from scratch, none of it came pre-built.
Chassis, motors, camera, and sensors on hand, nothing assembled or programmed.
Discovered the Raspberry Pi on hand didn't match what the documentation assumed.
Written instructions and video walkthrough disagreed, had to test and verify by hand.
Hardware now understood, next is writing the driving/AI logic ourselves from scratch.
