INNOVATORS CLUB ST. FRANCIS HIGH // CAD · HARDWARE · SOFTWARE

To become a successful engineer, you have to fail.

Every engineer, every project almost always never works on the first try, but that’s not a problem. That is the process - countless prototypes until a working product. Innovators Club gives students the time, knowledge, and pieces they need to design, break, figure, and create things to improve a creation. It doesn’t matter how fast it works or well it works. The process and the knowledge to get to the finishing product is the most important part of engineering.

How we actually build things

01
Prototype

Design it, build the first version, no matter how rough.

02
Test

Run it. Fly it. Load it. Find out what actually happens.

03
Fail

Something breaks, snaps, or doesn't fit. Expected, not a setback.

04
Diagnose

Figure out exactly why it failed, not just that it did.

05
Rebuild

Fix that one thing. Loop back to 01. Repeat until it holds.

What we tell every new member

01 / FAILUREA failed product isn’t a scrap, but a prototype pointing out its flaws.
02 / HONESTYIf it doesn’t work, say so. We fix problems, not egos.
03 / TEAMWORKEngineering is all about teamwork. A group of people always beats a single person.
04 / SPEEDIf something is done too fast, its probably a draft. A project is never truly complete; it just works to a certain degree.
